Thankful to be able to be in Virginia with all of my siblings and the parents.
We had an amazing meal with turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, bulgar with beans and pesto, broccoli and cauliflower, and bread. Dessert was Pumpkin Souffle and Pecan Pie with ice cream.

Just had leftovers and are finally in the Christmas Season!

We have all been making smoothies and drinks with the Amazing Grass product and everyone loves it! Especially when you are eating other things and want to make sure you get in your greens and nutrients! Today they have 30% off sale going on so check it out!

My mother, sister, and I all did a circuit on the treadmills this morning.
My sisters routine : 6 incline at 4mph spead ; every 4 minutes run at 7 mph for a minute; then 4 min at 4mph. We did this for 45 minutes then stretched. The whole goal was to not hold on the whole time (which we all did :) )

Now we are all lounging and then going shopping to Gap and probably Target and then hitting up the Virginia Tech bookstore to get some VT gear on sale !

Happy Holidays and GET GREEN!!!!

sportin the white band today
SYNERGY.....yep I got some free coupons to review this product. First thing I hear when I go to buy them at Whole Foods was....."this is the new craze...HOW DID YOU GET A FREE COUPON!"     This intrigued me even right when I get into the car I crack this sucker open! The smell got me right away; a little like vinegar! BUT the drink was surprisingly GOOD! I got the Trilogy flavor and it has Kombucha, rasberry, lemon, and ginger juice in it. Right after I drank about half the bottle I felt like I was WIRED!

It says right on the bottle that it promotes :
Digestion, Metabolism, Immune System, Appetite and weight control, liver function, body alkalinity, anti-aging, cell integrity, healthy skin and hair....DANG thats alot.

Even if it doesn't do all that it says, it sure made me feel good after drinking half of it! It was a bit pricey at 3.39 a bottle so I don't know if I would buy it but on the other hand people pay that for a beer right? I am excited to try the other flavors... thanks to Alba at Millenium :)

I WILL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER TOMORROW... you have until midnight tonight!

PS. My latest nutrition info is that I have 4 or 5 whole walnuts a day (crack them in the shell because its MORE FUN that way) This way I get in my omegas without having to worry about eating fish!

Tonight jaydun and I have cardio circuit at the gym.  My Favorite! I got the bathing suits packed because we are going into the hot tub after to relax.....yes indeed.

Package just arrived! Reviews to come... oh boy its like christmas already!

Tomorrow is the last day for the RAINBOW contest for GREEENS!

I cannot wait for the holidays! We have officially decided Saturday we put up the tree and our decor! Stockings and all! I went to Trader Joes and right when I walked in was a chocolate advent calendar...yep HAD to get it!

I just got back from teaching BodyFlow...and I have to remind myself after I teach everytime how much I LOVE IT! I feel so relaxed and stretched out after....Nice to get paid too, a little added bonus. I got home and made an omelet and am about to try one of the Luna bars I got to sample :) I think we will go with the........White Chocolate Macadamia ( 9 grams protein, 35% calcium, 30% iron, 100% folate) looks pretty good to me! I packed the nutz over chocolate in the jaydun lunch..... Reviews to come tomorrow!

Tomorrow I get more GREEN superfood and I think the vitalicious package is coming as well.....YESSSS more samples and "taste testing".
Couldn't come at a better time because I have been ravenous lately. I eat and I am still hungry, eat some more, and STILL hungry. I think it is the weather...cold and rainy. COMFORT FOOD time.

That is why I am getting into oatmeal and soups. Yes oatmeal for breakfast. With added walnuts or almond butter and cinnamon. Fills me up!

Tonight I go teach bootcamp to the office. Then I rented a movie for jaydun and I to watch and RELAX.

Have a good week away from TGIVING!

I will also post the recipes to the pies that I am making for it! Pecan Pie and Pumpkin Souffle!

Busy as a Bee

I seem to always have something going on....
I am headed out to go meet with the YMCA about being a running coach for the Indianapolis Mini Marathon...which is the biggest half marathon in the US! You get to run the last 2 miles around the indy 500 race track! We will see if this works with my schedule, but it would be a pretty sweet deal to coach and help people accomplish their goals.

I wore the Mango band last night to bootcamp and today I have the light green on....Choices; so many!

If you have any questions about them ASK!

So if you remember my favorite product of the amazing grass was.....
Chocolate Green SuperFood powder!

We are giving away these packets with a shaker.....
1. List your favorite food for each color of the rainbow.
2. Favorite green food!

Best two answers will get some GREEN!

Off to the interview....

Amazing Grass.....

Finally the samples came in!
I have only tried two so far and.....

The wheatgrass was very green and plain (wouldnt buy it) BUT the chocolate drink powder GreenSuperFood was amazing! I mixed it with skim milk and it tasted just like chocolate milk!
We have yet to try the bars or actually put the mixes into our smoothies...I am sure I will come up with a concoction this weekend!  ( It is crazy how many nutrients and greens are in all of the products...I feel healthy just reading it!

As far as life....I am pretty much going to be teaching every day of the week, which I love because it is one of my passions: teaching others to incorporate fitness into their hectic lives! I will be adding a core class to the mix on tuesday nights.
I am so glad it is finally the weekend and I get to relax with jaydun and go OUTSIDE! It is suppose to be 66 and sunny tomorrow which is pretty much a repeat from last weekend, which I will take any day!

I just put in the laundry and am preppin some kale to make kale chips with dinner...we shall see the verdict ....I am going to coat them with extra virgin olive oil and then sprinkle some spices and Jane's crazy mixed up salt....I use this on pretty much everything! Put those suckers on a baking pan and in the oven on 350 for 15 minutes until crispy....

Do not know what the plans are for tonight yet....

Hump Day

Woke up and got a message that they needed a sub for Total Tone...I pretty much just did a toning style bootcamp...needless to say it was pretty fun!

After that I did a TON of errands SuperTarget, Whole Foods, Dicks Sporting Goods

My new favorite snack cereal
It has the perfect honey flavoring...not too sweet....and a nice crunch....yummm

I think tomorrow I am going to make vanilla chocolate chip meringues (light and sweet) Just the way I like it!

Tomorrow I get to skype with ellen and meems! This is probably one of my favorite things to do (my little 17 month old niece) and then teach at corporate with jaydun!

Catchin Up

well it is Tuesday and I am catching up with all the events :)
First of all we rented UP for tonight! I am really excited to see it and cozy up on our love seat with some popcorn and who knows what else... probably smoothies, but we shall see.

So on Monday I taught another bootcamp class and this one seemed alot harder than the last one. We used a longer stride and did more circuits with speedwork and agility moves. Then moved on to the rotating side lunges and side kicks. I taught 2 yoga tracks again and worked some abs and back in (with the planks of course) I think they are the best for training your abs to stay tight throughout the day.
TIP for the week...TAKE THE STAIRS and take any opportunity to get a quick walk in...every little bit counts!

This morning I went to the gym to walk on hill interval at 9 for Kelly and Regis then took BodyFlow at 9:30....which I also teach (my favorite class and everytime I do it I just want more!)
I solely give BodyFlow all of the credit for my flexibility!

I just popped in some homemade french fries and am going to meet jaydun for his lift session after work.
Tomorrow I am going into work at lifestyle to learn how to work the speaker system at that gym for me to start the BootCamp on Wednesday mornings at 10:30! I love teaching....the sad thing though is that when I teach I feel like I am not even getting a workout.....

Oh yea and one last thing that I got a call for today...I am going to lead up a new group called "walk, talk, pray" at our church; which involves getting women to go on walks and talk about "whatever needed" and then pray at the end! I am so excited for it, especially using my passion for health and fitness to share with other women in the church and get to know more people!

I have a number of samples coming in this week that I cannot wait to share my reviews!

Monday, November 9, 2009

Long night after teaching bootcamp we decided to go to the gym to do a cardio interval then jaydun played a lil' bball. We didn't get home until around 8 and made food, showered and are now relaxing and it is already 10! This means I will catch up tomorrow :)

Nighty Night

Colts Sunday

Sunday Forecast.....70 and sunny
Perfect weather to go downtown to the colts game!
We left early to meet friends at Le Peep for brunch and it was delicious. I got the blueberries with oatmeal cinnamon and jaydun got a yummy omelet with chicken and veggies mixed in. Oh yea and how could I forget the coffee for me and milk for the man.
We then drove to the game with the boss and her man and got there early and walked around the new Lucas Oil stadium and relaxed with some Bud Light.
Jaydun and Nelly

Indy race car....way bigger than me
The game started off to a slow start and by halftime it was 13 to 10 colts winning. We got a carved turkey sandwich in the lounge area and by the time we were done eating it was back to the game and the texans were back in the game after scoring a TD. It came down to the colts being ahead 20 to 17 and the texans missed the last field goal with 4 seconds left....Kind of a sloppy game but still exciting! We got to go see some old players from Virginia Tech (Xavier Adibi and Andre Davis) outside the locker rooms.

We are now relaxing at home after getting back around 6:30....needless to say a long day of football.
Is the weekend really over already? Thank God for beautiful weather where we could enjoy the outdoors and take full advantage of it.

Tomorrow Baking? Yes I think so...before I teach the corporate group bootcamp :)

Sunny Saturday.....bladin day!

YES.... finally jaydun and I pulled the blades out of the closet and went on the monon trail! We probably went about 12 miles and both felt it by the last couple miles, and jaydun was on the verge of getting two blisters on each foot. Thankfully we had stopped just in time where neither of the blisters actually formed.

We had just talked about how everyday this week we have done something different; whether it be circuits at the gym, bootcamp class, biking outside, and blading! The best way to beat boredom is to keep switching it up and make it FUN.

*** GET OUTSIDE WHEN YOU CAN...everyone needs that Vitamin D***

I made two egg, broccoli, and onion omelets with some crazy mixed up salt (LOVE the stuff). With a whole grain thinwich for each of us toasted (nelly: almond butter    jaydun: peanut butter).

No pictures, but that is probably because we ate them up ASAP! The key to making it is to start with the vidalia onions simmering in the pan on medium heat and then when they start to brown add the steamed broccoli and eggs....then of course flip when needed and add seasonings....RESULT: delicious
(FYI: jaydun sneaked in some ground flaxseed in his)

I am really in the mood to do some baking in the next few days....any suggestions on what I should make a healthier version of?

Until next time......

Jaydun and Nelly are off to church at Northview Christian Life tonight because tomorrow we get to go to the COLTS GAME!

My first blog... ever

What's up guys, I'm Nelly's guest blogger... and, oh yea, her husband. We're both new at this whole thing but I already get the feeling that I am the amateur blogger of the two. She told me I could be her guest blogger as if she had been doing it for years. But I will say this- she knows what she's talking about. She's in the process of testing some health products then passing that info on to those of you who read this. My plan as of right now is to throw in my 2 cents on occasion when I get the urge to talk about my workout plan, whatever health products I serve as the test dummy for, and also a subject I feel strongly about: organization. Sounds lame, I know. But you would be surprised just how closely health and organization feed off one another. At least they do in our life together, so I will pass along whatever info I feel would be helpful to you readers.......

Just like Nelly said, "Dreams only come true when the dreamer takes action." While health, organization, or anything else we write about on here may not be your life passion, we do encourage you to give things a try... it all boils down to taking action. Looking forward to pitching in every now and then...... take care.

Dreams only come true when the Dreamers take action.....

Lets go HOKIES...Finally got a W last night.....(this is my niece Harper with her Hokie gear)

Quote from church on Sunday....
Just reminds me that actions speak louder than words...if you have a goal or a passion....put it to work! Make a list of how to make it happen and the steps to get there and go with it.

I finally started this blog and am passionate to share my interests of a "healthy" lifestyle because I want to let others know the ins and outs of what I find!

Last night the workout went really well and I think I can speak for everyone by saying our heart rate got up FAST! My whole theory with being active and working out is to do SOMETHING everyday and to switch up the workout as often as you can.

Jud and I are going to the gym tonight and doing cardio circuits........
5 minutes on each machine (Treadmill running at 7.5 mph) (Bike) (elliptical) (arc trainer) (climber...yes the actual stairs that climb!)
We will probably do two rounds of this and then stretch.
This constantly keeps your muscles working and by switching machines it gets rid of boredom as well!

I promise I will get some recipes up here and my latest cravings.......
The newest is mixed berry frozen fruit with vanilla soy protein (from sam's club) and Jud has the chocolate whey protein with a frozen banana and of course milk!
We get our spinach in with our salads with ground Flaxseed and both LOVE it.

Thats all for now......

Best Wicking Headbands
(me, my sister, my mom)

I am now a wholeseller for this band due to my new obsession with wearing them.

It wicks away the sweat, keeps away my whispies!, and can be worn for fashion too
It is one of the only bands that I have found to stay in place while working out, or just wearing everyday.

This is a picture of me, my sister, and mom ALL wearing them...... (blue, green, black w/silver dots)
If you want info on them just email me as there are MANY colors and even ones with sayings like "I'm not fat I'm Pregnant"

This is the website for the options, but I can give good deals with them!
